The 2026 Annual Meeting of the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC) will be held at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL, December 13-15, 2026, and will be held in an in-person-only format of participation. The theme day topic for 2026 is “From Farm to Everywhere: The Full Spectrum of Agricultural Transport”. The theme day is being organized by Annelis Deuss (OECD), Edith Laget (OECD), Sandro Steinbach (North Dakota State University), Sunghun Lim (Louisiana State University), Shamar Stewart (Virginia Tech), and Jason Grant (Virginia Tech).
Call for Non-Theme Day Presentations and Organized Sessions
Beyond the theme day sessions, the meeting will include sessions to present individual research papers and organized multi-paper/panel discussions. This memo serves as the first call for such papers and presentations. We also seek volunteers to serve as Session Chairpersons or Moderators.
- Individual Research Presentations
Papers can be completed, work in progress, or research planning. These sessions include individual papers and provide an opportunity to report on research results or work in progress, present research plans for critique and feedback, and discuss research priorities.
- Organized Multi-Paper/Panel Discussion Sessions
Usually organized by one or two individuals, these sessions consist of one to four panel members or several paper presentations, followed by an open discussion/working format. These sessions may be requested as plenary or concurrent.
- Business Meeting of IATRC Members
The Business Meeting will include current planning and future activities of the IATRC.

Send an abstract (one page or less) or organized session proposals to Jonathan R. Coleman via e-mail (Jonathan.Coleman@usitc.gov) by Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Decisions on selected papers and organized sessions for presentation at the meeting will be made no later than Friday, October 16, 2026. - Travel support for Ph.D. students/candidates, early career professionals
Ph.D. candidates who recently completed or are nearing completion of a dissertation related to domestic or international markets and trade policy and Ph.D. students who are working on international trade topics may be eligible to receive a registration fee waiver and/or travel support. Additionally, IATRC members who are early career professionals and wish to attend and present at the meeting but need additional travel support are encouraged to apply for this IATRC travel award.
Please note: Travel support awards are contingent on the outcome of a conference grant application that is currently under review. We are awaiting a funding decision, which will determine whether travel support can be offered and the number of attendees we will be able to support.
We encourage all eligible participants to apply for travel support by the stated deadline. Although we are not yet able to confirm the availability or number of awards, submitting an application now will ensure that your request can be considered once funding decisions have been finalized.

For Ph.D. Candidates/Students/early career professionals: Send your CV, abstract describing your research presentation (one page or less), and a short expression of interest for the travel award summarizing how your dissertation or presentation topic relates to the research mission of the IATRC, and the name(s) of your dissertation chair or co-chairs (if student) to Jennifer Shelton via e-mail (Jennifershelton@vt.edu), by Wednesday September 30, 2026. Please ensure the subject line of your email submission reads: “IATRC Ph.D. Student Travel Award” so we can keep track of these submissions. Decisions on Ph.D. travel awards will be made no later than Friday, October 16, 2026.
*Note: Recipients of the above-described awards are expected to attend (in person) and present their research at the IATRC meeting during the non-theme day portion of the program.
